E-Commerce
Perhaps the clearest indication of the growing importance of e-commerce in the global economy is the rapidity with which Internet use has grown and spread during the last decade. The boom in e-commerce also includes increased use of other media for trade, such as the telephone, television, fax, and electronic payment. E-commerce became such an integral part of the global economy. E-commerce is an online business involving exchange among customers, business partner and vendors. E-commerce has increased the speed and ease with which business can be transacted today.
 
The objective of this course is to learn everything about E-commerce from developing online strategies for launching and organizing a site, to planning and to see the transition systems like e-cash, online Payment, e-auction, online selling or purchasing . This course also useful for how to create an e-commerce web site.

Unit I: Computer Organization:
Digital computer Intro., Hardware, Computer Components, Intro to operating system, functions of OS, Examples of OS. DOS: Using Dos commands, DOS environment, General, Internal & External Commands. Windows: Windows Introduction, Desk up top Icons, working with windows, control panel, life management, using windows explorer, Accessories, Graphics, System works. Intro to Linux.
Unit II: Internet:
History, growth, anatomy of internet, applications, impact on society, services on Internet. Internet protocol, IP Addresses, Computers networks, types, DNS, Client server architecture, getting connected to internet, setting up internet connection, Introduction to IT.
Unit III: WWW:
WWW and internet, features, www servers, www browsers, HTTP, URL, working of web, search engines, popular web browsers- ISP's Internet Explorer- book marks, cookies, progress Indicator, customization, saving, printing, e-mail, working with email, servers, networks, protocols. FTP: Intro, Serves, Clients.
Unit IV: E-Commerce:
Perspectives of E-Comm, how business operates, connectional framework of E-Comm. Information mngt.e-comm on private networks, EDI, E-Comm web. E-Comm. in India, adaption of E-Comm, how E-Comm works, how to setup shop on E-Comm, how to get customers, issues under consideration, future of E-Comm.
